Oh my god! I had economy presentation tomorrow! I didn’t realize this fact until 11 o’clock. It needs group work and lots of effort so I should meet my friend at room 202. I ran into the room and met my friend.“Why are you so late?”
“Sorry, I didn’t recognize that I have the presentation tomorrow.”
“Ah... You idiot.”
I started group working. As time passes, I instinctively noticed that I couldn’t finish this work until 12 o’clock. As an hour hand went to 12, I had great dilemma. If I violate the curfew, I could finish economy presentation and will get good grade in economy class. However, I might get penalty point if I caught by dormitory parent. On the other hand, if I follow the curfew, I will be safe of getting penalty point, but it will be hard to get a good grade in economy class. Now, the clock is pointing at 11:55. I should make a decision now. I started to think about dormitory parent’s habit nowadays.
‘Um… He checked the rooms yesterday and day before yesterday. Then, the possibility that he will check today is less than 30%. I should stay here!’
The reason I stay at another room was quite reasonable. As I thought, he didn’t usually check the rooms three days in a row. I could get two birds with one stone—good grade in economy class without penalty point.
***(2nd person: violator’s roommate—Q)***
You were caught by ramen yesterday. Your penalty point is touching 20 already. Thus, you are afraid of getting penalty point any more.‘Now I should check everything and prevent everything that threatens my penalty point. From now on, I will observe the right habits of living. Hmm, today, dormitory parent checked cleaning condition. Yeah! I wasn’t caught!’
You thought you were perfectly safe from penalty point until 11:50. Now it’s 11:50 and you reexamine all things, and you find out that your roommate Bok is gone.
“What happened to him? I should not get penalty points anymore!”
You called to your roommate Bok and pushed him to return to the room 510.
“Hey, come back! What happened to you?”
“Ah, sorry Q. I think I should not return to my room tonight because of my economy presentation. However, don’t be so nervous of getting penalty point. Mr. Waiting had checked the rooms two days in a row, so the possibility of checking the rooms tonight is very low.”
“Ah… yeah, but you should be careful!”
You were so worried but you thought that Bok’s opinion was quite reasonable and accepted his choice.
***(3rd person: Dormitory parent—Mr. Waiting)***
He was nervous these days since he suddenly thought that students’ attitude was going bad and bad. He thought that he should be stricter toward students. Thus, he checked all the rooms day before yesterday and yesterday, two days in a row. However, he had dilemma today. As his original plan, he should check all the rooms today, but he felt tiresome.
‘Should I check the rooms today? Maybe students now will feel that they should obey school’s rules. And, I should think about my age. I’m already facing 70… It’s a very normal condition that I feel this work as tiresome.’
He decided to believe students and to do not check the rooms tonight. He might regret his decision but he thought he needed to rebuild trust with students to live comfortable life in dormitory. At 11:50, however, he went out for a walk to refresh his mind. Walking through the hallway, he heard some noisy sounds. He was driven by that sound and went inside one of the rooms. He saw students playing each other loudly. Did he regret his decision? SURE HE DID. He then changed his mind to check all the rooms tonight as he firstly planned. At 12 o’clock, he slowly walked to 5th floor.***(2nd person: violator’s roommate—Q)***
“Dormitory parent at 502!”
You saw this warning sign at the facebook. You started to feel fear of getting penalty point again. You immediately call Bok.
“Hey, Bok! Stop preparing your presentation and COME BACK HERE IMMEDIATELY!”
“What? What happened, bro?”
“Mr. Waiting is coming! He’s in 502 now!”
“Really? Wh..What should I do? What if I meet Mr. Waiting on the hallway?”
“That’s matter of your own ability!”
You nervously checked the facebook.
“Striking 504!”, “Also at 506”
A few minutes later, the door was opened and you saw face of Mr. Waiting, not your roommate.
***(3rd person: Dormitory parent—Mr. Waiting)***
He firstly went into 502.
“One, two, three… five? Where is one another student?”
“I don’t know, sir.”
“Call him right away to return his room, and you guys will get penalty points.”
He felt disbelief toward students. The students were out of order. After he declared that he will restrict students more harshly, he thought that students will behave in order. However, nothing has changed. His heart cried sorrowfully. His trust has broken. He chronologically checked 504, 506 and 508. There was nothing special. He then opened the cold iron door of 510. He saw one student in front of the door saying hello to him.
***(1st person: curfew violator—Bok)***
I was very confused. After getting call from Q, I couldn’t easily make decision. If I go upstairs immediately, I will be at 510 faster than Mr. Waiting, but it’s too dangerous because I could meet Mr. Waiting on the 5th hallway. However, after a moment, there’s only one thing that I could do—just go upstairs as fast as I can and be careful of meeting him on the hallway. When I started running, I saw the facebook warning of “506.”
‘Well, if I run, Mr. Waiting will be at 508. Then, it’s safe.’
I rushed into my room, checked the floor that there was no human on the floor. I satisfied myself and opened the door. And, I saw him.
“Wait! Where are you heading from?”
“I just went out for drinking water.”
“WHERE ARE YOU HEADING FROM? Don’t make me asking the question one more time.”
“202, sir.”
I failed. My plan met low, negative possibility. I felt sorry for every roommates.

You got 3 more penalty points. You couldn’t do anything. You couldn’t prevent Bok from violating curfew. Finally, you decided to report to the dormitory for curfew everytime.

답글삭제Despite a lot of grammatical stuff to clean up (much of it you can take care of yourself if you're a bit more careful and meticulous with proofreading) you do a good job of following directions and formatting clearly. It's a another "slice of life" at KMLA with some humorous bits. Good work.
